Nestled at the base of the vibrant Flinders Ranges, South Australia's longest chain of mountain ranges it is ideally situated for families, couples or groups looking to holiday in a peaceful rural setting. Milcowie is a fully furnished farmhouse offering spacious accommodation for up to nine guests and yes, we love your pets! Sun yourself on the back lawn, enjoy the ducks swimming on the pond, enjoy spectacular sunsets, cook up a storm in the kitchen or bbq, stargaze, relax and read. Just hang out or take off and explore. The choice is yours!

A Little Bit of History…

Initially the property ran sheep, pigs and cows in addition to cropping wheat and barley. The property is now leased for cropping only.

My father married and my mother joined him on the property where my three sisters and I grew up , known as ‘Overflow Villa’.

The original property was a large acreage trading as ‘Greig Brothers’, the property being eventually split between three brothers such that the Milcowie B & B homestead is now situated on 830 acres.

‘When I bought a financial planning business in Adelaide and moved, I developed the property into a Bed and Breakfast as I enjoy hosting guests whilst still having personal access when vacant’ - Peter

Well, what a holiday!

We throughly enjoyed our two week stay at Peter and Robyns house. It was clean, tidy and homely whilst being in an extremely peaceful and relaxing setting. Fresh chook eggs every day was a fabulous bonus! Peter’s communication was excellent and he was very responsive and respectful. Definitely recommend 😁

A beautiful homely accommodation. The kitchen provided everything necessary to create any meal, it felt like home. Our bed was incredibly comfortable. The home is spacious, entertaining and welcoming. Walking outside was relaxing, so silent and country. A total retreat!

Milcowie Bed and Breakfast is a shining light in the midst of the real land, operating paddocks, a run of chooks and ducks and plenty of stuff to do. There is an amazing array of treasures and antiques with comfortable beds, generous linen and towels. Aside from the fresh daily eggs, there is a pantry and supplies that would exceed many standard homes! A short drive to many attractions a great place to stay!”

Spacious & quiet rooms. Thoughtful amenities.

We had a lovely time here. It was the perfect spot to spend a couple of weeks in quarantine after coming back from interstate. The perfect place for a peaceful holiday while being nice and close to Port Pirie!

Really clear and prompt communication. The size and location of the house would make it a good base to start exploring the southern flinders ranges. I was just there for work and couldn’t really make the most of it. Very generous breakfast rations provided.

An absolute charming heritage property set in a rural landscape with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing and restful break. Lots of nice touches including a bottle of wine on arrival and well stocked pantry and refrigerator!.
